Wayne N. Barnes
Wayne N. Barnes, president of the Wayne Barnes Company, Inc., founded his company with the very philosophy of commitment to excellence in mind. He has been actively engaged in the construction and building industry throughout Texas since 1971.
Beginning with the construction of a Savings and Loan Branch in Arlington then continuing to Kerrville with the build of a Ramada Inn, Wayne Barnes starting building hotels across Central Texas. Wayne Barnes found his forte in designing and building commercial projects for clients, helping with the purchase of the property, designing and engineering throughout the entire build.
In 1974 he joined the Jenkins Company as the project manager building numerous commercial projects in the Austin and San Antonio markets. Over the next few years, he continued the building of various projects for other investors and companies, increasing his portfolio and experience to include multi-family homesites, as well as a variety of commercial applications.
Wayne Barnes decided it was time to create his own vision of a construction company. The Wayne Barnes Company, Inc. and a general contracting company was established in 1986. The Wayne Barnes Company, over the next few decades, successfully completed the build and remodels of numerous commercial office sites, retail centers, municipal projects, multi-family living complexes, and residential custom homes. Wayne Barnes not only knows Austin well, but surrounding cities as well. The Wayne Barnes Company has formed many clients relationships over the years and his clients have always kept in touch and have come back to him for his expertise in building or renovation.

Naylor Barnes II
I’m someone who thrives on turning vision into reality, both in my professional life and my personal life. For over 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of managing large-scale construction projects, shaping spaces that not only meet but exceed client expectations. Whether it’s a commercial development, a medical facility, or a military support center, I’m driven by the challenge of bringing complex projects to life—on time, on budget, and with quality that speaks for itself.
My journey into construction began at a young age, working for my father, who taught me the value of hard work, discipline, and punctuality. From an early age, I learned firsthand what it means to show up, put in the effort, and take pride in a job well done. Those formative years laid the foundation for the strong work ethic and attention to detail I carry with me today. The lessons my father instilled in me—about responsibility, respect, and perseverance—continue to guide me in both my career and my personal life.
A proud Texas A&M graduate, Class of ’96, I carry the Aggie spirit and values of collaboration, integrity, and perseverance into everything I do. My education further refined the skills I developed growing up, and it solidified my commitment to excellence in both my work and relationships. I’m fortunate to have been with my incredible wife for 16 years, and together, we’ve built a life centered around faith, family, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
Outside of my career, I find immense joy in coaching my sons in their various sports and activities. Whether it’s football, basketball, or baseball, I cherish the opportunity to be involved in their growth as athletes and individuals. Coaching not only allows me to stay connected to their lives, but it also provides a chance to pass on the values of teamwork, discipline, and dedication. Balancing family life, coaching, and a demanding career can be a challenge, but it’s one that I embrace. I’ve learned that with organization and prioritization, I can excel both professionally and at home.
When I’m not coaching or managing projects, I’m outdoors with my family, hiking, camping, or simply enjoying the natural beauty of Texas. These outdoor experiences help us recharge and reconnect, providing a much-needed balance to our busy lives.
In my professional life, I am always striving to innovate, solve problems, and improve processes. As a certified green builder, I’m passionate about sustainable construction and finding ways to make a positive impact on the environment. I believe every project is an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy—whether it’s the physical spaces we create or the values we pass on. At the end of the day, whether at work or at home, it’s all about creating spaces—whether physical or emotional—that uplift, support, and inspire.
